8Glen - Our Story

26th June

Got the call from SSL y'day and the co-coordinator wanted to make sure if we got the email about Saturday pickup. We completely forgot  ๐Ÿ˜ . Can't believe its been two months since he started the program. Well we are more than ready and cant wait for Saturday to arrive. At stage we are going to drive to Sale Friday night after fencing(Rosa would do anything to make sure she dont have to do catch-up lessons on Saturday). We should be in Sale around 10:30 pm straight to bed and start before 7am to make sure we get to Marlo by 9am. Do you want us to bring anything special when we come over ?

24th June

We went to bed last night after reading all the recent information that has been upload to SWAY. The latest newsletter from SSL also had lot of good information. Now its our turn to learn and understand what students who return from the two month experience expects from us parents. We are very happy about how Ryan took the opportunity to improve to learn new things, adventure and above all independence.

Our plan was to drive to Marlo early in the morning but we have changed it now. At this stage we want to get upto Sale the night before which is like halfway.

Looking forward for the weekend now. From your updates it sounds like everyone is in pack-up mode.

23rd June

Today was very quiet some rain in the morning . Went for out walks. Reading all the stuff in sway. Not long until we see Ryan again. Tomorrow i need to go to work

22nd June

Rushing out of the door to get to mass on time. Rosa is once again helping in the altar.  We went straight home for some quick breakfast before heading to Balywn highschool for Rostrum Voice of the youth State final. The plan was to attend and listen to the speakers. But the club had other plans we ended up chairing and time keeping the finals !!! To my surprise Rosa was okay with it . Imagine a highschool theater with me and Rosa on the stage chairing a state competition well that happened. Speakers were amazing and we had a really good time. Rosa loved the Subway food which was provided to everyone attending. You could have given it a crack. Maybe next time.  The runner up was from Clyde high school and "malayalee" . We had a chat with the family in malayalam just like in that animation ๐Ÿ˜‚
On our way back Arnav called asking if we are going to be home. They came over with some El Jennah chicken and chips. Amma made some sliders and airfried chicken.

21st June

Got to sleep in a bit this morning with Amma finally making some "uppumavu" . So with full of energy i decided to work in the garden. Remember the motto "happy wife , happy life". Since its middle of winter we wanted to give the roses around the garden a real hard prune so that they can come back in all the glory this spring.  It took a me a while to slowly cut back the very thorny bush roses . Rosa decided to come out and help. She did a fantastic job giving the rose arch a really good prune and when it got too tall for her she got a ladder and kept going. I think the music on  her headphones would have really helped her focus ๐ŸŒน

For lunch Amma put her culinary skills  again on display with rice , fried chicken and multiple curries. I am glad to report the garden work has already started to pay off.

We then had to head off to the church to make sure the new computer is working properly . Which it was and they we head straight to Lijo's house for dinner. Lijo is Skie's uncle.  Sid and his brother along with his parents was also there. It was good to catch-up with them as we haven't seen their new house. The food and company was great. It was very cold outside by the time we got back home.

20th June

It started out as any other friday apart from the driver side door for Renault failing to open. So now i have to get in through the passenger side and unlock it from the inside. The root cause is faulty door switch and i need to take it the mechanic one of these days to fix.
Rosa is showing her skills at the fencing its great to see her improving every time, like Ryan she is  thinking about the game.
At night after dinner we decided to visit Janet and Evelyn's family . We haven't seen them in a while and their uncle back in India passed away so we wanted to relay our condolences. To our surprise they got a dog recently !! The dog was very excited to see some new faces and relentlessly starting running around. Janet as all grownup like Katelyn and is in Uni now. Everyone wanted to know where is Ryan. We agreed to catchup at our place in a months time and came back home around 10pm just in time to watch Mufasa "The Lion King" I didn't sleep and loved the movie.

19th June

Cold winter nights with a new technical ability to remotely turn the heater on ๐Ÿ˜Ž. Its very cold here , Karate going as usual Rosa is progressing well. There is some new kids all younger than her.  Appacha and Ammachi is getting their passports renewed . Trying to get them to visit us this Xmas like last time. Jenny and family is hiring an EV and doing a trip via Melbourne. Expect December to be busy.  Amma attending the abc of VCE session at your school. She understands it much better now. Hope your friends at EDSC and SSL are all keeping well. Say hello to everyone on our behalf. John Hendry  seems to be an interesting guy.

17th June

The plan was to have lunch with some co-workers today but one person was sick and we ended up re-scheduling so WFH it is. I think a morning yoga session is kind of sticking now and it would be good to keep it going over long term. Maybe Ryan would be interested when he comes back ๐Ÿ™.  Indu is hiring a new dentist and i am still trying to work out who is more nervous her or the person  who is being interviewed. It will be great if we can find a good person that means less stress for her going forwards.  I have the Rostrum dinner which i was planning to skip . The venue is kinda boring and tried making a recommendation to change it but wasn't successful.  Now if i dont attend they might think i am sour about it . The competition is sneaking up on me and that means lots of practice !!!

14-16th June

The weekend went so quickly!!. Saturday morning Amma had work and it was just us at home in the morning. We used the time to do a bit more gardening and get the car washed. In the afternoon Vinod and family decided to visit us. So that means a quick clean for the whole house. Amma decided to go with some spicy beef curry to match the kappa(Cassava). The result was some really tasty food. The karaoke mixer got a bit of work out as well with me and Vinod belting out some classic Malayalam songs ๐Ÿ‘‚. Very soon we lost the mic to Rosa and Paru. Guess what went wrong :-) . The fruit salad with custard made a warm dessert to match the spicy dinner. It was  a late night by the night everyone left and we went straight to bed.

Sunday morning church had Rosa helping as a cross bearer . The seating arrangements got an upgrade so everyone now sits in the sanctuary. Teresina donated her old computer and we stayed back to help get it all connected. It took us sometime to get it all connected and ready for the AV desk. Let us see how it goes next week. Did we tell you about Masterclass ? Well we now have a 12 month subscription , that means we are trying to learn something new rather than being on Netflix (which is now cancelled )

Monday- weekend over everyone is back at work/school. Just two more weeks for Ryan to get back

13th June

Yesterday me and Pappa submitted the video for "Ocean Pollution".
Today we started filming the goodbye video for Miss Macarella, haven't finished so to be continued on Monday. We also had the Grandparents and special friends day today.ALL the school leaders had to welcome the people and guide them as to which rooms they were going to.I also asked Miss Macarella about your email and she said she has not seen it yet ,has a lot of emails to catch up with. We had to stand outside in the freezing cold,I was literally shivering!
That's it from me-Rosa
Amma's day:
It was a nice sunny day today eventhough it was freezing! We have been continuing to wake up late in the mornings and having a crazy morning regime. Will be good when you are back ,with your disciplined routine we hope to follow you;-)
The work was as usual, nothing unusual and crazy. We have also advertised for a new dentist and have been getting some interests. I am meeting couple of them next week.
Just finished dinner and it was good. It was a mix of rice, chicken and veggies and I used a new Indu's recipe for the same. Everyone liked it,especially Pappa.

10th June

There some kind of issue with Sway for the last two days and we have been waiting for it to be fixed so see what/how the prep was coming along for Expo 2. Now get to know what happened over the recharge day. Hope Remy gets better soon and join the team.
I made some progress with the iMovie , as there was lot of wind noise at the beach i decided to add the audio which was recorded at the beach not closer to the mobile but i am having some lip sync issues. Rosa has taken the video recording to school today. Let us see what feedback she has from her friends.
So tell us more about the expo ? Did you do canoeing ? Amma was very worried about the rain.

9th June

The sound of rain woke me up this morning and it look me a bit to realize we  decided to sleep on the sofa bed last night. Just three of us and wondering what Ryan would be doing at this moment in Marlo. Little did we know he was also awake at 4AM from the same rain that was hammering down most of coastal Victoria. Rosa decided to stay in a bit longer considering how exhausted she was feeling from the Rise Cup competition from Sunday.  We parents used to time downtime for some bookkeeping tasks over a cup of coffee.  The plan was to head out to Port Melbourne along with two other Milgate students to record a video speech about ocean pollution. The forecast was on the money and the sky cleared up by the time we got there. Since this is my first time trying to use iMovie i was a bit nervous. The plan was the get the shot and then record the audio separately so the wind and waves was not too overpowering.  We got the shots without too much hassle and the most exciting thing was Rosa losing her school leader badge and passerby putting it on the small rock fence.

Since we finished on time we decided to pay Sijo uncle and family a visit in Seabrook. They were home and we spend couple of hours socialising and enjoying each other company. The kids dragged us in to a game of poker and food was amazing as usual. Everyone was curious about how Ryan was doing. Little do they know that he is braving the cold and rain in Marlo.

6th June

Rosa got her fencing uniform finally and she is going to compete wearing that. Today she even managed to beat Francis once , they part is she is learning and using her brain along with her techniques. She has training tomorrow and the Rise cup is  Everyone at the club asked me to say hello to you.

4th June

This morning I woke up in the cold, it was seven degrees, a top of 13 degrees. I put on some pants and of course my year six jacket then I drank some Milo. It was nice and hot. My first session was PE it was really fun today because we started to train for atheltics day with things like shotput , high jump and stuff. However today we specifically looked at hurdles and discus . Its suprisingly harder than I thought to properly hold a discus before you throw it. Anyway after that we visual arts where we continued our project inspired by Lucy someone (I forgot her name).

We did have a lot of time left when we started our project again and it was also quite hard but satisfying because we did the art project thing where we used different colors and shapes to convery emotions but shapes like circles were really hard to color in with oil pastels. And in addition to the stress I ripped my peice of paper a bit which is really sad because it will destroy my work.

I normally would work on it more at lunch time first half at art club but I was actually hosting todays art club with some of my friends . And it was very hpacked today with a bunch of little kids mostly and beforehand we have to say an anncouncement about art club and what we were doing . Ashlegh went to go get Kate so it was me and Surin. I told Surin to make the announcement while I start to set things up because we were in a rush but ... Surin was like 'Rosa, come and the annocuement with me ' and I was like you do it and I will set it up.  But then she was like not co-operating so I just went to the office and did the anncouncement myself!!! i think I made Pappa proud by doing that .

After lunch we had exhibition which is really fun bcoz the exhibition groups each one of us had to make a video 90sec and pretend we were an MP. Its inspired by the completion Parliament Prize (search it up ) and we have to follow the same rules. However if we want to we can actually send it in and see if we can win the cash prize . That is why my group have orgaised to meet at the beach to make a video next Monday. It's going to be rainy !!! because our topic is ocean pollution . I really hope our choice of location will have an impact.

2nd June

We now have poet in the family. With permission

Red Balloon by Rosa Thomas

As I let go of the little boys hand

The people below looked like grains of sand

I rose up higher and higher

From up above I saw the store Myer

As I drifted away from the warmth of a hand

I drifted away from the bright green land

Despair came over me as I rose up to the clouds

It was fluffy and as white as a farm cow

Suddenly I was popped by a beak

Air came out of me like an old leak

Before I knew it I was drifting down

Me! A balloon as red as a clown

I eventually lay down on the cold concrete street

Around me lay rubbish it wasn’t a treat

I thought of the comfort of the little boy

And how I lost all of that great joy

1st June

The early morning doughnut walk is something we will remember for a very long time. It was great to see how mature and independent you have become in such a short time. Even though we miss you badly i think the skills , connections, learning will come handy in the future. I like to believe you are in the good company there.

31st May

Quick cup of tea and off to pick up Ryan. Once we got there most of the parents have arrived already but its only 9AM - maybe others didn't get the message about the pick up time :-) .  Some other kids realised we are Ryan's parents .. i wonder how they picked it up so easily. We expected him to be ready at the front door with his bags packed but now we couldn't spot him anywhere. Did he go with some other parents ?? i wonder did he forget us that quick ๐Ÿ‘…. Nah he was just shy hiding with his friends near the table tennis area. Dont who was more happy us or him. But he showed us around his veggie garden he was very proud of his work and so are we. I was thinking about our veggie patch at home . Now i can ask an expert about what i did wrong so we are better prepared for the next season. Other kids seems to acknowledge him he could popular  or a much better leader than he wants to admit.

We had some of his favorite food prepared, thanks to Amma. She is the best that happened to me and everyone in the family ๐Ÿ’‘

30th May

The main highlight was getting ready to visit my son after a month long wait. Trip was uneventful exactly like we wanted with a short 30 min break to have an early dinner. There was lot of traffic heading out of Melbourne but once we hit the fringes of the urban areas it was smooth ride to Lakes Entrance. Check-in went okay. It had a really old school feel to the whole place.  Need to wake up early !!

28th May

Rosa- Today was a cold morning and a slow start to the day, I regretingly got out of bed and put my uniform on. 3 days I told myself and I walked out to have breakfast, today was a wendsday so Amma dropped me off at school. I had PE, Art then the rest of the day was normal, we had some light rain and some medium wind. After lunch as part of Joshua's Exibition project we had a rubbish collection composition, I'm pretty sure I got 4th place ;) Amma picked me up and when I got home Amma gave me some biriyani and samosa, SIMPLY DIVINE. Amma a then had to go pick up Pappa and after that they both went to ALDI to gather supplies for our survival, and to get some snacks when we go visit you. Then when they came back Amma bought some of the power custard I asked if I could make some she said sure but use the old one. I was going to make it but Pappa said I had to write the blog so right now Amma's making it. And I'm typing these glorious words that's before you.

Peace-Rosa

26th May

Rosa- I woke up at 9:16am and did some yoga with Pappa, today was a curricilum day for me, and then ate a single rusk. I then ated some TV but then soon had to go to my appointment. I quickly got changed and then we drove there my appointment was at 12:15 and pappa's was right after mine. We then had to fill out some forms and then my turn was up. Pappa came with me of course and showed him my foot. He asked me if it was irritating or disturbing me In said no not really. He said there were 3 options, I could do a procedure at the clinic, do a home treatment or do nothing. He said that doing nothing is completely an option because if it's not disturbing me there's really no NEED to do it. I choose to do the home treatment because he said that one was not painful compared to the clinical treatment which apparently is very painful. So then after pappa's turn we went to go buy some plants and then we went to a nearby chemist, we bought these sticker things for my foot. Ryan and me used to use these when we had the things on our feet while we were in Eltham. After that we went to EFD to go to the sushi place with Amma for lunch I ordered this chicken thing with this incredible sauce it was so good. We said goodbye to Amma and then retired home. I put the sticker thing on my foot and the continued watching right up to the point were Pappa said I had to type this. Counting down the days till we see you.
from Rosa

24 May

Today was a gardening day with Amma leading the way.  Did a bit of clean up in the front. The frosty kinda killed our chilli plants only one of them survived.
Rosa-Today I woke up very tired and I watched some TV . I then got bored so I started doing todays Duolingo to continue my streak. Oh yeah btw Pappa got me Duolingo on Wensday but he wanted me to do the maths one. So I did I also got chess and piano lessons. And today I made Amma get Duolingo so I can friend her, shes doing Spanish and maths. On Duolingo I'm on the leaderboard fr maths third or second place I think, anyway I helped around the house a bit. When Mia family came (BOM family in Geelong) came they brought some macaroons which were delish. I had Oreo, chocolate,Pistachio, and some passion fruit ones. We all had to go to church then.Tommorow I have the Rostrum voice of Youth thing And I'm nervous for that. Can't wait to see you though, Ryan. Amma and Pappa says they both feel as though you've been away for a year though for me it feels like you've been away for like one week.๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜

23rd May

And it's a movie night.. For dinner we had dumplings its a new shop, the pan fried version was pretty good. It was great to read your SWAY and the new experience. Did  I tell you how apple broke my phone ? So my battery was getting very old , took it to apple and some how they managed to damage it. Now they have given me replacement.
It is Appappa's birthday today. He is turning 78.
Rosa is in a fierce fighting mode in  fencing. She broke Jamie's sabre during a bout:-)
Looks like you will have to use the strtegies you learned in SSL to catch up with her for Karate and fencing;-)

22nd May

Yesterday I made a deal of a lifetime, Pappa said to me come to  Rostrum meeting and then I don't have to say anything OR go to under 14s fencing comp. I didn't think he was serious ! We will be going for the Voice of the  Youth on Sunday as volunteers. And Teresina says hello to you:-) She has done the Roster for the Altar servers and guess who is not rostered for the next half of the year????
Our old Eltham neighbour Jeni also said hello to you guys, and your grandparents from back home in India
Amma tried out a new  yoghurt raspberry muffin recipe and it turned out to be a huge hit! Think we will be bringing some for the visiting weekend for you to try.
Saw your expo pics, looks a lot like the Scouts camping. Glad that you had fun. And it was strategic of you to carry the first night's dinner:-D
We are happy to see that you are gaining lot of things from this SSL ,we see the improvement from Sway postings. Well done and keep it up. Keep getting better!!

19th May

Pappa's B'Day!!!
Big B turning 44 today. Rosa made sure it gets celebrated:-)
Very frosty morning, did not want to come out of the blanket☃๐ŸŒƒ⛄
The Kia car batteries sounded a bit flat with the cold .Pappa decided to get  new batteries, but after all the trouble it turned out to be wrong sided one. I baked a Japanese vanilla cake ,turned out to be nice. Rosa had done banana dipped in chocolate bites. - Amma

As we type this you would be somewhere around Mornington Pensisula in your sleep bag listening the sound of all the insects. Hope you are having a great time there with new friends and experiences.
BTW we got your letter today, Rosa was over the moon with that . She hasn't shared what you wrote to her. - Pappa

18th May

Had a full church coz the first holy communion kids from the school was there. Pappa and Amma on AV desk and Rosa as the cross bearer. Terrasina says hello and everyone from the fencing club as well. Amma decided to cook some nice biryani, she had to use boneless chicken as Rosa has decided she don't like bones anymore.  Sony uppappan and family came with a cake and gift for me. So we had a mini bday party .

17th May

It was a rainy day with Amma going to work in the morning. I decided to clean our pond using a siphon  and it was ended up being a learning opportunity for Rosa. The Ryan already help clear the water so it was easy to identify where most of the muck was . Water level was down a bit so we topped it up and gave the big leaf plant a bit of clean as well. Since the ground was wet I also used the time to pick some weeds that was growing in the backyard. Did I tell you our cucumber is getting hammered by some insect!! - Pappa

Hello hello….
Can see you enjoying many birthday ๐ŸŽ‚ cakes. How are you R’Och…
Was rainy today , the garden was much in need of one. Worked half day today . Nothing much from our end. Just going to Paru and  Ami’s to say hello. Also don’t forget Pappa’s birthday on May 19 th
See you in 2 weeks  ๐Ÿ˜š

16th May

Hello hello....
Cooking dinner for the fiery fencer and her dad..Making some black rice ,chicken and salad.
It was a beautiful day today,a bit cold for most people's liking but was sunny. I had a quiet day at the clinic. No complains ,coz it is Friday after all.
Rosa had a busy day at school, leading 2 school tours. Pappa was busy as always. Evening they went to the fencing and I heard Rosa "steam rolled" her opponents. She is going to do the Rise cup on the May 25th.(Pappa convinced her at last:-))
I am working tomorrow and hoping to work in the garden afterwards.Rosa is doing the fencing in the morning too as she will be missing the one coming Friday.
Our neighbours are away again to China for another few months. They were here the other night with some Chinese cabbage and pork buns!
Your fishes are keeping well, the plants have grown a lot too.
  16th of May
So up first I had school tours and we all had to first stay in the conference room and it was nerve wrecking we were all discussing what we should say. Then the first family came we all looked at each other but then Felipe offered to go first we were all super relieved but then the suspense rose as new families came in and on by one we were all sent of. I was on e of the last about 4th last but I stood there proudly in front of my family and introduced my self from there it was like a breeze with some quick glances at my 'what to talk about' sheet. However as soon as I was done with my first one Ms Mankerella immedeintly put me up with another family they were a family of four unlike my first one which was a family of three. There was the mum, dad, little boy in prep and a small girl who from the looks of it seemed maybe 2 or 3. I of course introduced myself and then set off the first part of my tour when we open the doors was the dogs which the family suddenly set off to they were petting the dogs and the mum was asking the handler (Alex) lots of questions near the end of the conversation she started asking for the breeder!?then we went to my normal route but I had to keep it to the foundation area because they requested spealliy for that. They asked a lot of questions to a bunch of teacher, mainly the mum, basically all the mum,  including me. They asked me how I feel in a IB school and how its better then non IB schools, and how milgate teaches or learns IB like which grade, I really didn't know how to answer it so I reasonably gussed and then the rest of the tour went smooth-ish. At the end of my 2nd tour I got to have one of the mini muffins at the front, that was for parents, because Ms Williams said I could. Then the rest of the day was the same, other then the  facts that we rearranged our tables and seat. And of course I went to fencing and apparently I ''steamed rolled'' the kids in my age group...
Anyway that's all- Rosa out

15th May

I’m just in the car waiting for Rosa to finish Karate. Everyone was asking how you were going a nd teasing Rosa about mastering two katta  by the time you get back .Amma was home today. She had a laser procedure done on her upper lip. It was very swollen this morning. Basically Dentist used a high-powered laser to cut the small bump she had on her upper lip. She’s quite annoyed with the swollen lip. Hopefully she will recover by tomorrow . Rosa is thinking about attending the rise  cup. Let’s see how it goes at least she has agreed to attend.

I am thinking of doing the Rostrum competition. It would have been good to get your feedback on how I went. They wanted me to add a bit of humour. I’m not sure how to do that. Me and Rosa Will be volunteering in The voice of The youth. Amma made a really nice God care yesterday we had it with chappathi

how is your expedition preparation going?

14th May

Nights are getting cold now but if we leave our north facing windows open during day light hours it stays warmer  longer. The solar passive design is impressive. How is the weather at your end ?  Did you manage to record on GoPro. Get more photos and some good videos. We can get it printed out. Here the wine and maple tree is changing colors but not much rain. It was a dry summer and autumn this year. How is your vegetable garden going ? How do you manage to keep it pest free? Excited to know more about how you are going.  BTW i searched up 1%club never done it before was it fun ?

Not sure if you are keeping track of what is happening in AI . This is a long read but very interesting https://www.thefp.com/p/ai-will-change-what-it-is-to-be-human

Today-By Rosa

um...

Today was a late start, getting out at 8:27am. Morning was interesting with PE first session. in PE we had a Lacrosse clinic๐Ÿฅ! Some people from the local lacrosse club came to teach us basic lacrosse skill like throwing, catching, scooping and even some stick tricks. After some basic training we got into the game, numbers. It was flipping' hilarious๐Ÿ˜‚ (at least for me) Elisha a person in my team was pretty good at the catching bit when it came to catching he had a few hiccups, every time it put the stick over his shoulder preparing to hit it he dropped the ball, not noticing, and swung it as hard as he could, even funnier he did this like 4 times. Then Wayde another boy on my team got the ball and was jogging towards the other team's goal ๐Ÿฅ…he was right in front of it maybe a meter away, it was one of those kids soccer goals, he was cheering loudly feeling very proud that he was going to get a goal then... he swung the stick and the ball went over the net by a bit! how the hell did he miss that?after that was Art๐ŸŽจ which I think was a bit less engaging we just had to finish last weeks work. However we had to make the art room EXTRA tidy because it was open night so families would come in. So me and some other girls and some boys stayed in to help clean the entire room, that meant I was sweeping, organizing, and washing๐Ÿงน. Most of the others left at around half bell, while me and my friends stayed in for the entire recess we were like 5 minutes late to class. during class we had our normal language section then lunch came. I had to eat my lunch๐Ÿฒ quick because I had a meeting about Friday which is open morning when I got their it was just about what to do, its basically a bunch of school tours.I quickly ran off because Wednesday was T-ball so I ran to the oval to catch up because I was late⏰ due to the meeting, but they weren't there so I met some friends to ask do they know where it's being held they told me their friends said they were going to T-ball practice so they told me to go check the oval. I did go there but they weren't there, I was on the slope bit while jogging cautiously looking for fellow T-ball plays then suddenly a great pain occurred in my lower leg๐Ÿฆถ, i looked down to see that my foot was sideways and my left weight collapsed, I quickly put my feet upright. But it hurt like hell because, when you roll your ankle normally it's on a flattish surface but I was jogging and on a slope  so my foot rolled eve farther down, I didn't bother going to sick bay because I didn't want to cause a fuss. though on the way back to the year six area I discovered some of my friends that goes to T-ball when they came up to me I expected them to tell me practice was over, but no they told me that there was no practice because the school that we were versing didn't have a girls T-ball team. I was devastated because I was looking forward to playing and the fact that I ran everywhere to find them and I rolled my ankle. After lunch we just had Math ๐ŸŽฒ and Exhibition and then rather  then standing at Catherine avenue I stood in front of the school because Amma had this laser appointment and she wasn't sure if  she was going to be late or not. When I got home it was normal, eat and watch. Then when Amma  was making dinner Pappa told me to write the blog for you so now your all caught up.๐Ÿ‘Œ

 13th May

Rosa was off to the cross country and she did her best trying not to be the last ;-) . Guess what she was successful.  Apparently some kids in the lower year got confused with all the different paths and ended up disoriented . With EDSC kids distracted on their mobile phones didn't help . The parents took the anger out on the teachers , its sad maybe next year they will have a different approach. Our neighbor came with some home made pork buns and resolved what we should have for dinner question solved. We still haven't received your letter and i was thinking of sending another email with a tracker to understand where its all going !! ๐Ÿ‘ฎ

Tell us more about being a leader at SSL

12th May

We went out for a short walk so that Rosa can checkout Ruffey Lake Park in preparation for her cross country this Tuesday. She came in under 10 so putting her best to level up a bit of pressure ;-) . The walk ended up being really long both me and Amma was struggling a bit at the end but she was flying. It was full moon and the view from the top was beautiful. Ryan, Now that you are gardening expert i am trying to make the soil in the lawn more neutral , it was very alkaline so using some elemental sulphur. It will take around 3 months for the soil to reflect the changes.   All of us are really impressed with the lesson you had y'day. I hope the things you are learning will stay with your all your life.

11th May

Sunny morning,on our way to choose reconciliation. The church was full. It was the same [church] that we went together last time. In the top five Achu was in all smiles as always.๐Ÿ˜€

As you know today is Mother’s Day,So the priest had a little prayer for all the mums .

By the way, Amma was trying to type this blog post on the way to the church. I told her to use voice typing but she didn’t.And she ended up with a massive headache as the car ride was bumpy . And she didn’t save the  work so now I have to do this again. She also threatened me to throw up inside the car because of the headache. What a start to the day? But we forgive her since it is Mother’s Day.

After mass they had all nice snacks ,they even had ladoos which I had a couple and even stole a piece from Sony‘s plate. ๐Ÿ˜‹

Not sure if you remember Jomy, Anu aunty’s cousin , he and family were also at the same church so we had to say hello to them . They were asking where you were . We are at Sony‘s place waiting for them. We will have lunch from here before we head home after this.

10th May

We are heading to see Chinju‘s daughter. She was born so four weeks ago. Amma and Rosa went to get a gift from Kmart. While we are in west of Melbourne to see them, we might actually go around and see a couple of people as well at the same time. What are you doing today? Are you going to the beach and spend some time alone reflecting on things I think that is a great idea for lunch today. We had fish fry. Not sure you would like it or not. I went to the fresh Food market this morning Oommen uncle.

9th May

This is a short one.

Write this early in the morning as today is going to be very busy. We are picking up Alex, Rosa has fencing and Sony is going for another kidney stone procedure so we have to pick him up and drop him home.  We watched a documentary about a Tรผrkiye it was fascinating. I want to go there now.

Today is movie night and we haven't decided what to watch yet. Should we watch Inside out ?

 8th May

It was a cold night and  i fed the fish this morning. For some reason they are not taking the food as much as they did , maybe its too cold for them. Our veggie garden is surviving , cucumber is getting attacked by some insect . I sprayed it with a soap let us see how it goes. The chilli and coriander is coming along nicely.

Rosa had a game today and she had 3xhome , so she is pretty happy.  They even allowed to bring our baseball gloves to school. Guess who else maybe interested in Baseball next season. We are not getting much rain and i had to water the lawn a bit.  As the soil is very alkaline i am experimenting with sulphur  trying to make it more neutral. Its going to take 3months minimum for the soil to improve.

For lunch i met with an old colleague in Blackburn. His name is Paul and his daughter in Japan is same age as me. He helped me plan for out Japan trip. We talked about solar , batteries , IT so you know i would be happy :-)

Rosa is making good progress in karate , maybe she will have another stripe before you get back. Make sure you practice ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜Š

I helped Amma with the grocery shopping in Aldi . We always wonder what you are doing !!.  Having idly and chuttney tonight for dinner.  Good to see you are taking part in the  bridge building exercise especially chipping ideas and helping out. Now we know the leadership camp is working ...

Appacha and Ammachi was away for his cousin's 90th bday.

  1. Hey guys,
That seems like a great night! That's the track I go to every time for cross country... we got to the top of the track near the bridge, loop that independently, then complete the rest. That's the 3km.

  2. I woke up late in the mourning and was rushed. I had to quickly drink my Milo, change into my uniform and do my hair. By the time we got out of the house it was 8:38am however I wasn’t late for school.
First thing in the mourning we got into our reading/language session where we had to do morphology, syntax, reading, daily review and writing. Then we had recess I played with my friend Surin and we had a good laugh. After recess we had math which went pretty easy it was just about pattens and finding the relationship between the number, I just created a formula instead of writing it all out. I wrote 3x-1. Anyway after the maths session we had STEM which was just coding some stuff into a micro bit . Then we had lunch in which I had to go to the conference room with the other school leaders for a meeting about our future plans/projects, earlier last week we were talking with Miss Brown about how she went to India and she visited this school in like near the dessert, and she asked then what they need for their students they can be easily transported, and apparently they said socks so we are thinking of doing a sock drive and such…
We then had assembly and then I went to writing class.
When I went home after 20 minutes or so I decided to go to Ruffey Lake Park but when we got there I only jogged up a hill and there was a ninja course there so I got kind of carried away so then pappa said to go home…

  4. Hey,
The weather here is so nice, normally staying under 23 degrees Celsius and clear blue skies with morning fog. I do have some photos and videos on the GoPro, but they're not nice enough for printing or anything. We are going to have a photography class tomorrow though, with their big camera, meaning I could send some to you after that. The vegetable garden is pretty good, Steve got us some Cauliflower and broccoli to grow, along with some horse manure to mix in. And yes, the 1% club activity was very fun. Also, I can't read the whole article because I don't have an account on that website.
    Bye for now,
    Ryan
